The People's Party is using the "5 Months 5 Promo" to prepare for the launch of "Dr. Joe" Chaiwat Stawarawijit as its candidate for Bangkok Governor, promoting the concept "Simple Bangkok BY People's Governor."
On 4 May 2026, reporters from the People's Party (PPC) reported on activities ahead of the official launch of their Bangkok Governor candidate on 5 May at 17:00. The venue was changed from Museum Siam to The Mitr-ting room on the 5th floor of Samyan Mitrtown, where "Dr. Joe" Chaiwat Stawarawijit, a party-list MP of the People's Party, will be officially introduced as the party's candidate for Bangkok Governor.
Chaiwat first appeared publicly at the party's event on Labour Day, 1 May 2026, participating in a campaign to submit a social security bill from Bang Pho Intersection to Parliament. The People's Party posted on Facebook: "Simple Bangkok BY People's Governor." They asked, "Is life in Bangkok difficult or too exhausting?" Acknowledging that the city is challenging, even for those who struggle hard, having a good school nearby, spending no more than an hour commuting daily, selling goods without paying bribes, and walking safely in one's own neighborhood have become nearly impossible in Bangkok. The party proposes "Simple Bangkok," a city that acts as a safety net embracing every day of your life.
Teasing the "5 Months 5 Promo"
Additionally, People's Party MPs posted on social media about the "5 Months 5 Promo." For example, party-list MP Surachet Praveenwongwut shared the People's Party Bangkok Facebook post revealing a new promotion on 5 May, hashtagged #SimpleBangkok. The post described Bangkok as "extremely difficult," reflecting the reality of everyday challenges: taking parents to public hospitals, returning home after work, saving money monthly, walking home alone at night, or starting a business. Despite having impressive buildings, BTS trains, and tourists, basic aspects that make daily life simple are still unmet for many. On 5 May at 5 p.m., the People's Party's governor candidate will present a vision for an easier Bangkok at The Mitr-ting room, 5th floor, Samyan Mitrtown — "Simple Bangkok by People's Governor."
