Peoples Party Launches 5 Months 5 Promo to Introduce Dr. Joe Chaiwat for Bangkok Governor Seat

The People's Party is using the "5 Months 5 Promo" to prepare for the launch of "Dr. Joe" Chaiwat Sathawornwijit as their candidate for Bangkok governor, highlighting the "Simple Bangkok BY People's Governor" campaign.

On 4 May 2026, reporters from the People's Party (Pop Chon) reported on the developments ahead of the official launch of the party’s candidate for Bangkok governor on 5 May at 5:00 PM. The venue was changed from the original Museum Siam, Bangkok, to The Mitr-ting room on the 5th floor of Samyan Mitrtown, where “Dr. Joe,” Chaiwat Sathawornwijit, the party’s party-list MP, will be introduced as their candidate for the Bangkok governor seat.

Chaiwat first appeared publicly at a People's Party event campaigning for the submission of the Social Security Bill from Bang Pho intersection to the Parliament on Labour Day, 1 May. Additionally, Pop Chon posted on Facebook: “Simple Bangkok BY People's Governor.” They asked if living in Bangkok today is difficult or too exhausting, acknowledging that the city is not easy. Despite everyone’s efforts, a good life isn’t guaranteed. Simple dreams like having a good school nearby for children, commuting no more than an hour daily, selling goods peacefully without paying bribes, and walking safely in one’s own neighborhood are nearly impossible in Bangkok. The party therefore proposes “Simple Bangkok,” a city that acts as a safety net to support you every day.

Teasing the "5 Months 5 Promo"

Moreover, party-list MP Surachet Prawinwongwut shared on social media about the "5 Months 5 Promo." He shared a post from the People's Party Bangkok Facebook page announcing a new promo on 5 May. The post stated that Bangkok is extremely difficult—this difficulty may be real. Taking parents to government hospitals, returning home after work, saving money monthly, walking home alone at night, or starting a business are all challenging. While Bangkok may have beautiful buildings, skytrains, and many tourists, the basics that would simplify daily life for residents are still not met. As noted earlier, for many Bangkok residents, the city remains tough. On 5 May at 5 PM, the People's Party’s governor candidate will present his vision for a simpler Bangkok at The Mitr-ting room, 5th floor, Samyan Mitrtown | Simple Bangkok by People's Governor.
