The Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives summoned the Director-General of the Department of Fisheries today to explain the "Thailand fish AI" issue, denying any decision to appoint an investigative committee and requesting to review the details first.
At 09:14 on 5 May 2026 at the Government House, Mr. Watcharapol Khawkhum, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, spoke about summoning Mrs. Thitiporn Laoprasert, Director-General of the Department of Fisheries, to clarify the case regarding the application. "Thailand fish AI" which has discrepancies and has raised questions about whether the procurement budget is excessively high. Initially, I want to review the documents to understand the details, as I am not yet aware of the specifics and want to know the project's background.
Regarding whether an investigative committee should be established, Mr. Watcharapol said he is not yet aware of the details and wants to review them first. When asked if the procurement budget for the application is overpriced compared to its effectiveness, the Deputy Minister said he has received many suggestions and advice from the public, which is why he invited the Director-General of the Department of Fisheries today.
