Warawut visited areas in Suphan Buri where homes were damaged by a storm, offering encouragement to those affected. He also thanked all agencies assisting the victims and urged rapid coordination to unlock compensation funds, emphasizing that the people of Suphan Buri do not abandon one another.
6 May 2026 GMT+7 Mr. Warawut Sinlapacha, Minister of Industry, accompanied by Mr. Natthapong Sanguanjit, Governor of Suphan Buri Province, along with representatives from related agencies such as the Ministry of Industry’s affiliates—the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT), the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Bank of Thailand (SME D Bank), the Department of Industrial Promotion, the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, Ministry of Public Health, Ministry of Interior, local administrative authorities, military, and police—visited Ban Pho village, Taling Chan Subdistrict, Suphan Buri Province. They distributed survival kits and essential goods to residents affected by the seasonal storm to explore ways to provide aid under government measures.
Warawut inspected the damaged homes and spoke warmly with residents affected by the storm, especially vulnerable groups and the elderly who were present during the storm. One resident shared how shocked she was when the storm hit unexpectedly and that she has a bedridden son at home. Warawut responded by saying that the people of Suphan Buri do not abandon one another.
Later, Warawut said that Ban Pho Subdistrict in Mueang Suphan Buri District was among the areas severely affected by the seasonal storm on 4 May. Wooden houses suffered heavy damage, but fortunately, no serious injuries occurred—only minor ones—even though elderly and vulnerable residents were present during the storm. He expressed gratitude to all government, private, and state enterprise agencies that immediately provided assistance, including survival kits, and are now coordinating urgently to secure budgets for house repairs. Although each agency has its own regulations, he requested expedited approvals and coordination with military engineers to help repair homes as well.
The storm-affected areas in Suphan Buri cover Mueang, Don Chedi, Bang Pla Ma, and Song Phi Nong districts. Warawut plans to offer encouragement and distribute initial survival kits, while expediting coordination with the province and related agencies to repair homes quickly so residents can return safely.
“As a person from Suphan Buri, I thank all government agencies that responded immediately and reaffirm that the government and state agencies will not abandon our people,” he said.
The Ministry of Industry’s visit included senior officials from its departments and agencies: Mr. Sumeth Tangprasert, Governor of the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand; Mr. Phichit Mintrawong, Managing Director of SME D Bank; Mr. Suraphol Pluemjai, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Industrial Promotion; and Mr. Witchayaphan Ploytubtim, Industry Officer of Suphan Buri Province. Initially, they distributed survival kits and prepared financial measures to assist the local residents.
