House Speaker Launches Sapha Wa Tee Season 3, Engages Gen Z in Creative Debates to Stay Away from Drugs

Sophon launched the intellectual battlefield, kicking off "Sapha Wa Tee Season 3," drawing Gen Z to engage in creative debates to stay away from drugs, with incentives exceeding 500,000 baht.

On 7 May 2026, Mr. Sophon Sarum, Speaker of the House of Representatives, initiated a major youth project by assigning the Secretary-General of the House to open the "Sapha Wa Tee Year 3" forum. The aim is to use the art of speech to instill immunity against drug abuse, following the soaring success of the first two seasons. The first hot debate topic is “Family vs. Educational Institution”: who is the frontline defender against drugs?

Mr. Siroj Paetphan, Secretary-General of the House of Representatives, disclosed that he received direct policy from the Speaker to quickly create a constructive space for youth. This year focuses on campaigning against drugs and encouraging participation with parliamentary work. According to past statistics, the "Sapha Wa Tee" project attracted high interest, with a 42% increase in participating schools in Season 2. In 2026, the activity is supported by the National Savings Fund and educational partners including the Office of the Basic Education Commission and the Office of the Vocational Education Commission to effectively reach target groups.

Eligibility requires contestants to be high school or vocational certificate students (teams of 4 with up to 2 substitutes). Registration is open from 18 May to 30 June 2026. The top 16 teams will be announced at the end of July, with debates held from August to September 2026. The total prize money reaches 520,000 baht. This year’s intriguing first-round motion is "Families prevent drug abuse better than educational institutions," a topic close to youth to foster debate and creative solutions from a young generation’s perspective.

“We want to open a space for students to showcase their potential, not just in speaking but in analyzing national issues like drug abuse, and to connect youth concretely with the legislative role,” said Mr. Siroj.

Students and educational institutions interested can follow application details and conditions via parliamentary radio, television, and online media (TPchannel) starting from 9 May onward.
