7 May 2026 GMT+7 Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok, answered questions about whether he would announce in advance if he were to resign from the governor position before his term ends on 21 May 2026. "Around that time," he was asked if it would be two days prior, Chadchart replied, "I will notify in advance if I resign early. If I don't resign, I will continue as acting governor for a longer period."
Regarding whether he would resign before his birthday, Chadchart said, "Around that time as well, because my birthday is on 24 May. Don’t worry, I will notify in advance, but I have personal commitments that will require me to be away for a while."
Additional reports stated that on 24 May 2026, Chadchart will turn 60 years old.
