
Lalida revealed that the government is moving forward with the "Thai Help Thai" initiative, inviting citizens to buy affordable products every Friday at 946 locations. The program covers essential daily consumer goods and includes participation from over 800 branches of leading wholesale and retail stores nationwide, aiming to help more than 4 million people.
On 8 May 2026 GMT+7, Ms. Lalida Pertwiwatana, Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, announced that under the leadership of Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, the government continues to ease citizens' living costs through the "Thai Help Thai Reduce Living Costs" project. This integrates cooperation among the Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Interior, Thailand Post Co., Ltd., wholesale and retail stores, entrepreneurs, and online platforms to widely distribute essential affordable products across the country.
The Deputy Spokesperson stated that the government aims to reduce citizens' expenses by no less than 280 million baht per month amid global economic impacts from Middle East conflicts. The project uses collaboration between public and private sectors to sell consumer goods at prices below market rates, while expanding sales channels for small entrepreneurs, SMEs, community products, and OTOP items without disrupting existing market mechanisms.
Citizens can choose to buy affordable products every Friday at district offices nationwide under the project. "Thai Help Thai Reduce Living Costs" On Friday, 9 May 2026 GMT+7, the government will collaborate with wholesale and retail stores and product manufacturers to offer house brands, secondary brands, and essential daily products with discounts ranging from 25% to 58% to help reduce living expenses for the public.
Additionally, the Ministry of Commerce and Thailand Post have expanded affordable product sale points nationwide to a total of 946 locations, enabling communities and remote areas easier access to these products. The project targets benefiting over 4 million people.
Meanwhile, post offices also serve as distribution centers connecting retail and wholesale sales and distribution via mobile vendors covering more than 1,000 local markets nationwide, ensuring affordable products reach people comprehensively.
The project includes 15 product items from 12 entrepreneurs, covering essential daily consumer goods such as Dokmai brand palm oil, Dek Somboon oyster sauce, Phu Khao brand MSG, Poompui canned clams, 5-kilogram bags of Pathum fragrant rice, Dakko Plus detergent powder, Plah Muek fish sauce, Super C Chef canned fish, big pack tom yum shrimp instant noodles, Magic Clean floor cleaner, Sunlight dishwashing liquid, as well as Sunsilk shampoo and conditioner. These are sold at discounts of 25% to 58% compared to market prices.
Besides sales points at district offices and Thailand Post, citizens can also purchase Thai Help Thai products through leading wholesale and retail stores such as Makro, Lotus, Big C, Tops, Go Wholesale, Foodland, The Mall, and 7-Eleven, as well as over 800 local retail branches nationwide and online platforms including Shopee, Lazada, TikTok, Grab, and Lineman, all offering prices equal to physical stores for greater convenience.
"What citizens will gain is access to essential products at affordable prices, reducing daily living costs. At the same time, it helps generate income and expand market opportunities for small entrepreneurs, community products, and SMEs. The government will continue to support grassroots economy and improve the quality of life for the people," Ms. Lalida said.
