"Akkranant" orders resolution of the subsiding school building issue after hearing concerns in parliament. MP "Chat Patchon" praises the new generation's approachable working style that does not divide opposition and government.
On 8 May 2026, Mr. Akkranant Kankittinan, Deputy Minister of Education, accompanied by his team and MPs from the Pheu Thai Party in the area, inspected the problem of subsiding and cracked school buildings at Surathamphitak School in Mueang District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province. This followed MP Chat Supattaranit of the People’s Party raising the issue in the House of Representatives.
Mr. Akkranant revealed that this problem had been neglected for many years. Having heard about it in parliament, he wanted to visit the site personally because it is an urgent safety issue. He assured that people in Korat need not wait in hope as solutions are certain. All agencies will be integrated to allocate budgets and address the issue as soon as possible. He emphasized that the Ministry of Education under Minister Prasert and himself will focus on simplicity, abolishing old customs like folding pleated cloths or lining up for welcomes, aiming to be a ministry for the new generation that works efficiently and is truly accessible.
MP Chat Supattaranit of the People’s Party expressed his admiration, saying he thanked Deputy Minister Akkranant as a new-generation leader who pays attention to details and works very quickly. After Chat raised the issue in parliament, within minutes the Deputy Minister coordinated and personally called to inquire without arrogance. Upon visiting the site, he requested to see the problematic buildings directly without wasting time in presentations in conference rooms. This new approach is commendable.
“I am glad our country has someone like you. We work without dividing opposition or government because ultimately we are all representatives who must serve the people. I believe that if ministry leaders have policies that are understanding and simple like this, the Ministry of Education will transform from a shadowy place into a ministry that the public can access and trust,” said MP Chat.
Mr. Akkranant and his team are scheduled to continue inspecting damaged school buildings at Ban Nako and Ban Rai Suksan schools in Loei Province on 9 May to assess damage and find further ways to assist.
