Supamas Orders Immediate Suspension of Sales for Two Thermos Models, Warns Public to Stop Using Them

"Supamas" has ordered the immediate suspension of sales for two Thermos models both in physical stores and online after incidents of explosions during use abroad. She warned the public who own these water bottles to stop using them immediately.

On 8 May 2026, Ms. Supamas Isarapakdi, Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office and overseer of the Consumer Protection Board (CPB), issued a nationwide consumer warning. She chaired a joint meeting with consumer protection agencies and online platforms to establish measures for overseeing products meeting the Thai Industrial Standards Institute (TISI) mark and to enhance consumer safety on digital platforms. This was in response to international news reports of Thermos water bottles exploding during use, causing global alarm.

Two models have been identified for recall: SK3000 and SK3020. These pose a risk due to internal pressure buildup, which may cause the lids to violently pop off, leading to serious injury for users.

Ms. Supamas revealed that the CPB has ordered an immediate suspension of sales for both models across all channels, including stores and online. Although no injuries have been reported in Thailand, to prevent any incidents, the public is urged to stop using these water bottles immediately. Consumers who experience damage can file complaints directly with the CPB.
