Government Closes Registration for Thai Pom Phueng Thai Chuay Thai with Over 10,397 Applicants, Moves to Distribute Affordable Goods Nationwide

Registration for the 'Thai Pom Phueng Thai Chuay Thai' program has closed with over 10,397 applicants. The government is proceeding to distribute affordable goods across communities nationwide to support grassroots incomes and reduce living expenses for citizens.

On 9 May 2026, Ms. Lalida Pertwiwatthana, Deputy Spokesperson for the Office of the Prime Minister, revealed that the “Thai Chuay Thai Reduce Living Costs via Mobile Vendors” project, operated by the Department of Provincial Administration, Ministry of Interior, in partnership with the Department of Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce, and Thailand Post Company Limited, has attracted enthusiastic participation nationwide. Registration closed at 11:59 p.m. on 7 May 2026, with a total of 10,397 applicants.

Applicants included 4,535 three-wheeled sidecar vehicles (43.62%), 3,539 cars (34.04%), and 2,323 motorcycles (22.34%). This reflects the readiness of small entrepreneurs and mobile trading networks nationwide to become key mechanisms in delivering affordable goods directly to communities and citizens in all areas.

The Deputy Spokesperson said the government aims to elevate these "Pom Phueng" vehicles beyond ordinary sales vehicles into a "mobile economic network" that helps reduce citizens' living costs while generating income for grassroots entrepreneurs, distributing Thai products, community goods, and essentials evenly across various regions.

Participants will receive government support including fuel subsidies, starter product kits, and sales support systems, differentiated by vehicle type: cars receive 750 baht per week or 3,000 baht per month; three-wheeled sidecars 375 baht per week or 1,500 baht per month; and motorcycles 250 baht per week or 1,000 baht per month.

Additionally, participants receive starter product kits to sell and generate income within communities, with estimated average profits of about 400 baht for cars, 224 baht for three-wheeled sidecars, and 113 baht for motorcycles. They can also take pre-orders via district post office Line groups to facilitate convenient distribution to local residents.

Participants must pass screening by provincial committees and display clear price tags to build public trust. They may sell project products alongside their regular merchandise.

“The government views these Pom Phueng vehicles not merely as sales channels but as vital tools to support citizens’ livelihoods, reduce living costs, create income, and stimulate grassroots economies to circulate effectively at the community level,” she said.
