Department of Provincial Administration Orders Urgent Investigation into Two Grey Card Residents Will Prosecute All If Fraud Found

The Director-General of the Department of Provincial Administration has urgently ordered an investigation into the population registration of two grey card holders found with war weapons. If fraud is detected, legal action will be taken against all parties involved, including officials, and all related registration records will be revoked.

On 9 May 2026, reporters reported that the Facebook page of the Department of Provincial Administration, Ministry of Interior, published a document stating that following the news about Ming Chen Sun, a Chinese national involved in a car accident resulting in a rollover in Chonburi Province, authorities found war weapons, explosives, armor, and various types of ammunition in his car and residence. Police arrested him and also discovered another identity card bearing the name Cheng Jao Wu.

Naruja Kosasivilai, Director-General of the Department of Provincial Administration, ordered Vitoon Sirinukul, Deputy Director-General and head of the department's anti-security threat task force (DOPA N.I.C.E.), to urgently verify the accuracy of the population registration records of the two individuals involved.

1. Ming Chen Sun (holding a pink identity card), a Chinese national with ID number 6-XXXX-XXXXX-XX-X, currently residing in Khlong Sam Wa District, Bangkok, with a history of residence transfer from Chiang Dao District, Chiang Mai Province.

2. Cheng Jao Wu (holding a blue identity card), a Thai national with ID number 5-XXXX-XXXXX-XX-X, currently residing in Bang Khae District, Bangkok, with a history of naturalization and name addition recorded in Bang Khae District, Bangkok.

If any population registration fraud is found, the task force is to prosecute all offenders criminally, including cardholders and involved government officials, and urgently revoke all related registration records.
