10 May 2026 GMT+7 Ms. Lalida Pertwivatana, Deputy Spokesperson of the Office of the Prime Minister, announced that the Department of Provincial Administration, Ministry of Interior, is driving the retail activity "Thai Help Thai: Reducing Burden, Lowering Living Costs" the second round simultaneously nationwide on 8 May 2026, covering all 878 districts in 76 provinces. It continued to attract strong public interest, with 217,619 participants.
In this second phase, 9,721 stores participated, including modern retail outlets, OTOP shops, and community/SME stores, offering over 153,856 essential daily products at affordable prices. The initiative generated total spending exceeding 27.11 million baht and helped reduce expenses for the public by more than 6.23 million baht. This reflects the successful collaboration among government, private sector, local entrepreneurs, and community networks in tangibly lowering living costs for the people.

Among modern wholesale and retail outlets, the most popular products were cooking oil, eggs, laundry detergent, and sugar. For OTOP products, top sellers included food, clothing, and beverages. Community products popular among buyers were fresh food, cooking ingredients, and processed food.
Ms. Lalida added that under the leadership of Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, the government prioritizes ongoing efforts to support people's livelihoods by fostering cooperation among public agencies, private sector, and local entrepreneurs to distribute quality products at affordable prices accessible to all communities nationwide. "The Thai Help Thai project is not just a price reduction campaign; it is a key mechanism to stimulate the grassroots economy, generate income for local entrepreneurs, and ensure that people can access essential goods at fair prices everywhere."
