"Teng Natthapong" asserts the People's Party will field a full team, responding to the 2026 Bangkok governor election poll where "Chadchart" leads far ahead of "Chaiwat." He praises their good work but notes that structural issues cannot be resolved by the governor alone without a full team.
10 May 2026 GMT+7 Mr. Natthapong Ruangpanyawut, party-list member of the House of Representatives and leader of the People's Party (PP). He participated in a volunteer member relations event in Khlong Toei district, held in front of Ekkamai Bus Terminal, aimed at educating the public about the roles of MPs and Bangkok Metropolitan Council (BMC) members.
Mr. Natthapong commented on the Dusit Poll results revealing the popularity of Bangkok residents ahead of the 2026 Bangkok governor election, which shows Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, the current Bangkok governor, ranked first, far ahead of Mr. Chaiwat Sataworawijit, a prospective Bangkok governor candidate from the People's Party (see also:Dusit Poll: Bangkok residents rank Chadchart as top choice to continue as governor, People's Party expected to win BMC seats) He said, "I believe strong ground campaigns by MPs, prospective BMC candidates, and the gubernatorial candidate are key to showing people that to improve Bangkok, a full team effort is necessary. Mr. Chaiwat himself is also actively campaigning on the ground."
When asked to rate Mr. Chadchart's performance over the past four years, Mr. Natthapong said, "Mr. Chadchart has already rated himself; I won't give him a score." "I have said frankly that Chadchart's team has done good work and is recognized by many Bangkok residents. However, as I mentioned, I am not here to claim superiority over anyone. The People's Party has real strengths. Bangkok's problems are structural and cannot be solved by a single governor unless the effort is made as a full team."
