Monporn Praises Thaksin as Thailands Eternal Beloved Prime Minister, Reflecting Unfading Faith

Monporn joined in welcoming Thaksin Shinawatra back to freedom, praising him as a political hero who proved himself by serving prison time. She is confident he remains the beloved prime minister in the hearts of Thai people forever, with policies that have always been practical and never overlook the poor.

11 May 2026 GMT+7 Ms. Monporn Charoensri, Member of Parliament for Nakhon Phanom Deputy Leader of the Pheu Thai Party and former Deputy Minister of Transport, revealed that today is a day of smiles, love, warmth, and a historic political moment after former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra was granted a pardon and released from imprisonment in a politically motivated case. She described the scenes of politicians, fellow citizens, Red Shirt supporters, and Pheu Thai family members warmly and enthusiastically welcoming him, confident that this reflects an enduring love and faith that has never faded.

Moreover, she praised former Prime Minister Thaksin as a political hero of Thailand and a true representative of the people. She stated that he has written a historic chapter in Thai politics, being the person who laid the foundation for Thai prosperity. He proved that "good policies are those that are truly felt." She thanked him for his dedication to the Thai people over several decades, confident that Thais love and remember his work always. Across every era, his policies have continued to support the people without change. The faith that feeds people and the love that never diminishes make him the prime minister forever cherished by Thai people.

Ms. Monporn further revealed that throughout his political career, she believes Thai people have felt his sincere commitment to work and push policies benefiting the public, never overlooking the poor. Many policies remain memorable, including the Village Fund project, debt relief programs, the 30-baht universal healthcare scheme, senior citizen pensions, and several others—all practical policies. Despite facing political crises and obstacles, he ultimately accepted imprisonment. Although a victim of political persecution, this proves to Thais that there is no real standard in Thai politics. No other former prime minister has dared to go to jail, even when facing political crises.

"Most importantly, he proved that a prime minister who understands and connects with the people earns enduring love and faith that never fades. Years pass, yet the public still accepts him, even though he was imprisoned unjustly. I believe the Thai people recognize this. Former Prime Minister Thaksin accepted imprisonment because his heart is with the people. I thank everyone for their support and encourage former Prime Minister Thaksin and the Pheu Thai family. We will continue to demonstrate our commitment to caring for the people, no matter what happens. The people's faith is our greatest encouragement."
