
The government whip chairman revealed that the parliamentary speaker is preparing to send the loan decree to the Constitutional Court for review tomorrow, following petitions submitted by the People's Party and Democrat Party. The fast-track legislation is expected to be scheduled in parliament next week.

Mr. Krawee Prisananantakul, Member of Parliament for Ang Thong from the Bhumjaithai Party, serving as chairman of the House of Representatives coordination committee (government whip). He gave an interview at the Government House after Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul convened a Bhumjaithai Party cabinet meeting at the Thai Khu Fah Building. He said it was a routine cabinet meeting to follow up on assignments given by the Prime Minister and to review issues. The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of parliamentary work and has the government whip attend all Bhumjaithai Party cabinet meetings to stay informed about parliamentary matters and coordinate between the cabinet and parliament, especially on questions. The Prime Minister’s policy is that unless there is an urgent matter, they should attend parliament sessions.
Mr. Krawee continued by saying that on 15 May there will be a joint parliamentary session to consider laws that the cabinet has confirmed will be returned to parliament. If the vote supports the cabinet’s proposals, then the following week will focus on the House of Representatives’ legislative review, starting from next week onward. Regarding important government laws, such as the fast-track law aimed at reducing various bureaucratic procedures, which has been reviewed and amended by the Senate, it will soon be considered by the House of Representatives. They will see if it can be scheduled for discussion on 20 May. Laws nearing completion will be expedited for quicker enactment.
When asked about the case where the People's Party and Democrat Party submitted a request through the parliamentary speaker to send the Royal Decree granting the Ministry of Finance authority to borrow funds to address the impact of the energy crisis and facilitate the country’s energy transition of 2026 for constitutional interpretation, the loan decree, Mr. Krawee stated that it is the right of MPs to collect signatures and submit through the parliamentary speaker. He understands that on 12 May 2026, the speaker will send the matter to the Constitutional Court. This is why the speaker has not yet scheduled it on the agenda, and they must wait for the court’s ruling first. .
