At 09:40 on 12 May 2026 at the Government House, Police Lieutenant General Rutthapon Naowarat, Minister of Justice, commented on the case where prison officials took Mingchen Sun, a Chinese suspect involved in smuggling C-4 explosives and war weapons, to the hospital after he had convulsions on the night of 11 May. He said that according to reports, Sun experienced shock. He ordered the Special Operations Unit of the Provincial Police Region 2 Investigation Division to deploy forces to provide security. Currently, Mingchen Sun’s condition is stable, but no further details have been reported.
When asked if stress was the cause, Police Lieutenant General Rutthapon said they are examining his entire system and have also ordered drug testing, though results are not yet available. Officials are investigating the cause of his illness in detail, including any medical conditions.
