On 12 May 2026, reporters reported that earlier this morning, former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra arrived at Rama 9 Hospital for a health checkup following an 8-month sentence reprieve from Klong Prem Central Prison. Thaksin arrived at the hospital at around 08:00, accompanied by Khunying Pojaman Damapong, Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, and Ms. Pintongtha Shinawatra Kunakornwong. Initial information indicates that Thaksin underwent almost all medical examinations except for scanning, likely due to his EM bracelet. However, reporters were informed that this visit was private, and media were not permitted to photograph or report.
When the news team arrived at the hospital, staff allowed the media to wait, promising to notify them once Thaksin had finished. However, when the media went upstairs to photograph Thaksin leaving, hospital security directed them to return to their original waiting area, forbidding them from exiting through the main building route and instead requiring them to walk outside the building during rainfall.
