Cabinet Approves Offsite Meeting in Songkhla on 8-9 June

“Ploytale” revealed that the Cabinet acknowledged the plan to hold an offsite Cabinet meeting on 8-9 June in Songkhla Province, assigning "Phiphat" to chair the integrated development meeting of the southern Gulf provinces.


On 12 May 2026, Ms. Ploytale Laksamisangchan, Deputy Spokesperson of the Prime Minister’s Office, announced that the Cabinet acknowledged the organization of the first official offsite Cabinet meeting of 2026, as approved by the Prime Minister. The meeting is scheduled to take place in Songkhla Province on Tuesday, 9 June 2026, with accompanying inspections of the southern Gulf provincial group from 8-9 June 2026. The key inspection topics include (1) infrastructure and logistics development, (2) raising standards in tourism and services, (3) promoting the processing of agricultural and agro-industrial exports, and (4) water management and urban infrastructure improvements for effective drainage. The Prime Minister assigned several tasks, including:


Conducting field visits to monitor the implementation of government policies and address public hardships. The Cabinet members are tasked to visit these areas to follow up on policy implementation and local issues, with the National Economic and Social Development Council (NESDC) responsible for compiling data from these visits.


Holding an integrated development meeting for the southern Gulf provincial group in coordination with related agencies. Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, who oversees and monitors operations in this area, is appointed to chair this integrated meeting. The meeting will propose development issues and agenda items for the Cabinet. The NESDC, Secretariat of the Cabinet, Budget Bureau, and Ministry of Interior will serve as the secretariat.
