
A royal decree has been issued relieving Generals Somchai and Wirat, two special royal guard officers, from their royal guard duties.
On 12 May 2026 GMT+7, the Royal Gazette website publisheda royal decree announcing the removal of special royal guard officers from their duties as royal guards.It states that a royal decree has been graciously issued to relieve special royal guard officers from their royal guard duties.
Under the authority of Section 7 of the Security Service Act, B.E. 2560 (2017), Sections 6, 7, and 11 of the Royal Guards Act, B.E. 2480 (1937), and Clause 6 of the Ministry of Defense regulations on appointing royal guards, B.E. 2559 (2016), His Majesty has graciously issued a royal decree relieving two special royal guard officers from their duties. The officers are as follows:
1. General Somchai Phengkrut
2. Lieutenant General Wirat Kamonsilp
This removal is effective from 3 May 2026 GMT+7.
