Chayada Wipatikumprathet Posts Photo with Chadchart, Announces Run for Bangkok Councilor as Independent Group Member

Chayada Wipatikumprathet posted a photo with Chadchart, announcing her continued candidacy for Bangkok Metropolitan Council in Khan Na Yao District but running under the independent group "Working People," highlighting teamwork, experience, and ongoing problem-solving for the public.

On 14 May 2026 GMT+7, reporters noted that Bangkok local politics are becoming lively again following rumors that "Koi," Ms. Chayada Wipatikumprathet, a current Bangkok Metropolitan Council member for Khan Na Yao District, plans to run again for the council under the independent group "Working People," which is gaining attention across several Bangkok areas.

Ms. Chayada is regarded as a local politician continuously engaged with the community and is part of the political team led by Dr. Phonphum Wipatikumprathet, former Member of Parliament for Bangkok, who has long worked closely with residents in Khan Na Yao and Bueng Kum districts.

Over the years, this team has played a key role in coordinating and pushing for solutions to public issues, including roads, sidewalks, flooding, traffic, street lighting, public spaces, and providing assistance during various crises, supported by a strong and consistent fieldwork network.

Due to her continuous and recognized work, Chayada Wipatikumprathet was entrusted by Bangkok Metropolitan Council members to serve as the First Deputy Chairperson of the council, a significant role in advancing city-level initiatives in Bangkok.

Close sources revealed that the decision to join the "Working People" group stems from shared beliefs that local politics should emphasize "work efficiency" rather than traditional political conflicts.

The "Working People" group positions itself as an independent collective of genuine local workers with experience at community, district, and city levels, open to collaborating with all parties to push the best outcomes for the public.

Ms. Chayada stated, "For me, local politics should be judged by results, not just popularity. People do not want to see daily conflicts but want to see competent individuals who can genuinely solve their problems."

She also emphasized that past achievements never resulted from a single person but from a longstanding team working together with a deep understanding of local issues.

"We did not start working only during election periods but have continuously engaged with the community. Today, I reaffirm my commitment to proceed with the strong existing team and continue working for local residents," she said.

Many observers view Chayada's return under the "Working People" banner as reflecting a new form of local politics that values teamwork, experience, and real understanding of local problems over polarized or trend-driven competition.

With her experience at both local and council levels, the name "Chayada Wipatikumprathet" remains one of the most closely watched candidates for the Khan Na Yao BMC seat in the upcoming election.

Currently, Ms. Chayada is a BMC member affiliated with the Pheu Thai Party, but for the forthcoming Bangkok governor and council elections, she has declared her candidacy as an independent.
