Prime Minister Anutin convened a cabinet briefing at the Thai Khu Fah Building ahead of discussions with major CEOs at Government House on 15 May. The event, titled "Entrepreneurs Speak, Government Listens," aims to gather private sector feedback as the government seeks to jointly drive the country's economic growth.
14 May 2026 GMT+7 Ms. Ratchada Thanadirek, spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, revealed that tomorrow evening (15 May), the government will host an event inviting all private sector representatives to participate. The event is called "Entrepreneurs Speak, Government Listens." This is the government's first significant event organized to partner with the private sector to advance the national economy together. The government intends to listen to all sectors, recognizing the private sector as a key force to achieve economic goals, leading to the Prime Minister's intention to hold a forum to hear voices from the private sector. Each business group will have representatives presenting their points for the Prime Minister to hear. This will be an open government forum, with the Prime Minister and relevant ministers attending, arranged as seated presentations of opinions and suggestions.
Ms. Ratchada added that this confirms the government's approach to economic work as a joint effort between public and private sectors. Other forums will be held to listen to the public on different matters. This administration is committed to advancing all areas by listening to voices from all sectors.
When asked by reporters, whether major national tycoons will all attend, Ms. Ratchada said that generally, the response has been positive. She advised following up to see which individuals will participate but confirmed the event has attracted significant interest. Regarding whether the government will seek cooperation from the private sector beyond listening, Ms. Ratchada said discussions and explanations will be necessary. If the private sector raises questions, the Prime Minister may clarify to foster understanding and cooperation. However, the main purpose is to listen. She wants entrepreneurs to share their current activities, desired additions, or concerns, emphasizing the importance of fully hearing these views.
Previously, government listening to the private sector was done through associations. This time, association representatives themselves will speak while others listen, providing direct, in-depth information that the Prime Minister will truly hear without screening. It will be genuine voices reporting directly to the Prime Minister, allowing the government and private sector to find common ground to jointly drive the country forward.
Later, at 14:00, reporters noted that Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul called a cabinet meeting at the Thai Khu Fah Building, including Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Akniti Nitithanprapas, Labor Minister Julphan Amornwiwat, Digital Economy and Society Minister Chaichon Chidchob, Deputy Prime Minister and Commerce Minister Supachai Sutthumphun, Energy Minister Aknat Phromphan, Industry Minister Warawut Silpa-archa, Deputy Transport Minister Siripong Angkasunglek, and Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office Pradorn Prisanantakul. The meeting prepared for the government-private sector dialogue to define strategies to enhance the country's economic competitiveness at the "Entrepreneurs Speak, Government Listens" forum at Phakdi Bodin Building on 15 May from 17:00 to 20:30.
