Akrasankiri, MP for Chaiyaphum from the Kla Tham Party, appeals to the Ministry of Interior to urgently resolve the issue of nine subdistricts along rivers lacking access to clean tap water.
On 14 May 2026 at the parliament, during a House of Representatives session, Akrasankiri Lohveera, MP for Chaiyaphum constituency 7 from the Kla Tham Party, raised the issue of a shortage of clean tap water in Kaeng Khro and Khon Sawan districts, including Sub Si Thong and Tha Hin Ngom subdistricts of Mueang district, Chaiyaphum province.
Akrasankiri said that his constituency is located near Lam Patao Dam, Lam Klam River, and the Chi River, which have a steady water flow and no shortage of raw water sources. However, residents still face insufficient and unclean water with color and odor issues, especially for consumption. More than nine subdistricts lack access to provincial tap water. Many areas lack resources to improve water quality to standard. Many residents have complained about unclean and non-flowing village tap water, directly affecting health and quality of life. The area already has sufficient raw water sources.
What is lacking is only the water infrastructure. Therefore, he appealed through the chairperson to Mr. Jeset Thaiset, Deputy Minister of Interior responsible for provincial waterworks, to expedite the following water supply projects:Water production and distribution projectsin Nong Kham, Non Sa-at, Yang Wai subdistricts of Khon Sawan district; expansion of the water supply network for Ban Nahee and Ban Naman villages in Sri Samran subdistrict; water production anddistribution projectsin Nong Phai subdistrict of Kaeng Khro district; water supply projects for Ban Nong Daeng Yai and Ban Sok Hat in Chong Sam Mo subdistrict; water supply projects in Sok Moon Nak, Nong Ya Khao, and Sai Bua Daeng in Huai Rai and Chong Sam Mo subdistricts; and expansion of water supply networks in Kok Lam, Dong Phong, Na Lom, Nong Phai Lom, Hin Pha, and Phong Chang Noi villages. He expressed hope thatthe government will heed the voices of the people of Chaiyaphum constituency 7 regarding their urgent need for clean tap water.
