
The Navy Chief of Staff confirms the eastern border of Thailand is normal. The Chanthaburi-Trat Border Defense Command maintains strict control with no provocations and supports the government's Land Bridge policy.
On 15 May 2026, Admiral Thadawut Thadpitakkul, Navy Chief of Staff, reported on the situation at the Thailand-Cambodia border in Trat Province, stating that overall conditions remain normal. The Chanthaburi-Trat Border Defense Command has been able to manage and control the situation effectively.
Admiral Thadawut added that in the eastern sea area adjacent to the Cambodian border, no provocations or concerning incidents have been observed. Coordination with other agencies responsible for the contiguous areas is conducted closely at the local level under normal mechanisms to ensure efficient border management.
The Navy Chief of Staff also spoke about the Navy’s stance on the 'Land Bridge' project, a key government policy, affirming that the Navy is fully committed to implementing the government’s policies. Currently, the Navy continues to monitor progress and any additional policies to prepare for maritime security missions aligned with the government’s national development plans.
