
The Deputy Government Spokesperson revealed that Prime Minister Anutin will visit Phetchabun today (16 May) to tour the Si Thep Historical Park, a World Heritage site, before presiding over the opening ceremony of the "Phu Toei Rocket Festival," promoting cultural tourism.
On 16 May 2026, Ms. Lalida Pertwivatana, Deputy Spokesperson of the Office of the Prime Minister, stated that Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, who is also Minister of Interior, is scheduled to visit Phetchabun province to monitor the development of historical and cultural tourism sites, meet with local residents, and participate in important community activities to continuously promote grassroots economic growth and community-based tourism.
The Prime Minister will visit the Si Thep Historical Park in Si Thep District, Phetchabun Province, which has been registered as a World Heritage site by UNESCO, to follow up on the development and management of this heritage site to ensure sustainable benefits for the local population and economy.
Following that, the Prime Minister will proceed to the Khao Khlang Nok archaeological site to visit this important archaeological location and review plans for developing cultural tourism in Phetchabun Province, which is a significant potential source of income for local people and communities.
Ms. Lalida added that in the evening, the Prime Minister will preside over the opening ceremony of the annual "Phu Toei Rocket Festival 2026" at the front of the Phu Toei Subdistrict Municipality Office in Wichian Buri District, Phetchabun Province. This festival is an important local tradition that reflects the community’s identity, culture, and cooperation, while promoting tourism and stimulating the local economy.
"The Prime Minister emphasized that the government prioritizes developing cultural tourism cities, preserving historical heritage, and generating income for local people, alongside engaging with residents, listening to their concerns, and closely monitoring the work of various agencies to ensure development truly benefits the people," she concluded.
