At 17:00 on 16 May 2026, Anucha Burapachaisri, Democrat Party candidate for Bangkok governor, along with Ms. Tatdao Tangtrongjaroen, Democrat candidate for Ratchathewi district council, rushed to the scene where a container train collided with a passenger bus, causing the bus to catch fire. There were fatalities inside the bus and many injured at the railway crossing near the Rama 9-Asoke Phet intersection.
Anucha expressed his condolences to the families of those who died and to those injured in this major accident. After learning the news, he and the district council candidate for Ratchathewi quickly came to the scene to follow up on the cause and damage from this serious accident. He said he is willing to help coordinate in any way he can.
