The government spokesperson revealed that the Prime Minister is preparing to bring private sector proposals from the "Entrepreneurs Speak, Government Listens" forum to the Cabinet, turning them into concrete actions that will benefit the public.
On 17 May 2026, Ms. Ratchada Thanadirek, spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, stated that the "Entrepreneurs Speak, Government Listens" forum, chaired by Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul on Friday, 15 May 2026 at the Government House, included top executives from 10 private sector industries covering banking, hotels, tourism, construction, real estate, energy, petroleum, agriculture, retail, and consumer goods. Participants shared opinions to develop a clear Action Plan to drive Thailand's economy and enhance citizens' quality of life. The Prime Minister intends to bring key private sector proposals from this forum to the Cabinet meeting so that responsible agencies can take ownership and implement them concretely, rather than merely listening in meetings.
Summary of private sector proposals
Ms. Ratchada said the private sector proposals are not limited to business aspects but are directly connected to the lives of people at all levels, such as:
1. Growth of both large and small businesses, along with promoting new economies such as digital industries, clean energy, and advanced technology, will help create jobs and increase people's income.
2. Proposals to accelerate investment in infrastructure, water systems, and clean energy will reduce overall costs, stabilize electricity prices, provide farmers with year-round water supply, reduce drought risks, and lower living expenses in the long term.
3. Suggestions to improve regulations and increase transparency in government operations will boost investor confidence, attract new investments into the country, leading to economic growth and long-term opportunities for the people.
4. Promoting future industries such as AI, high technology, and green industries will generate high-skilled, high-income jobs, offer young people access to new careers, help SMEs compete better, and distribute income to communities and local areas instead of concentrating only in big cities.
5. The government acknowledges the problems faced by SMEs, especially micro SMEs, which still lack access to state measures and loan sources. This will help the government create targeted support measures in the future alongside fostering fair competition so that small entrepreneurs can survive and sustain employment.
The government spokesperson emphasized that many private sector proposals align with current government policies but require detailed joint efforts. Therefore, to achieve quick results, the government will proceed to establish a Joint Public-Private Committee (JPC), create a Dashboard system to monitor all measures, and schedule joint evaluations within six months to show the public tangible outcomes.
“This private sector consultation is a crucial mechanism that enables the government to formulate more targeted policies that better address the people's needs. The government assures it will expedite the implementation of beneficial proposals to produce concrete results, ensuring the public genuinely benefits both in daily life and in the country’s long-term future.” Ms. Ratchada stated.
