Biography of Nipaphan Junglertsiri, daughter of Jermmas Junglertsiri, from a prominent family in Pom Prap Sattru Phai district, who remains steadfast with the Democrat Party and aims to retain her seat as Bangkok inner-city councilor.
On 17 May 2026, if you mention the name “Councilor Goob,” many might not recognize her face. However, when told that Miss Nipaphan, nicknamed “Goob,” is the daughter of Jermmas Junglertsiri, many will say, "Oh!" Although Miss Nipaphan has only been elected as a councilor once since the 2022 election, the family name “Junglertsiri” is considered a prominent family with a long-standing political role in Pom Prap district since 2001. Mrs. Jermmas Junglertsiri, Goob’s mother, began her political career locally and was first elected as a councilor under the Thai Power Group and then under the Democrat Party in her second term, before resigning to run in general elections. She served as a Bangkok MP for the Democrat Party for three terms from 2005 to 2013.
In the councilor arena, Mrs. Jermmas passed the torch to her husband and Nipaphan’s father, Mr. Ek Junglertsiri, who took over and was elected councilor for three terms from 2005 to 2014, also under the Democrat Party. Currently, Mrs. Jermmas holds the position of treasurer of the Democrat Party.
Miss Nipaphan was born on 28 May 1989 and will turn 37 this month.
- She earned a Bachelor of Education degree (Educational Technology) from Silpakorn University.
- In 2022, she entered local politics for the first time and was elected a member of the Bangkok Metropolitan Council representing Pom Prap Sattru Phai district under the Democrat Party, a family that has long dominated this area. On 16 May, Nipaphan officially launched her campaign for councilor of Pom Prap Sattru Phai district with the Democrat Party, alongside other prospective candidates. She shared the party’s launch post and wrote the slogan “Bangkok, the City of Angels and More.”
