Government Aims to Boost Thai Durian Exports to Over 150 Billion Baht by 2026

The government is advancing the enhancement of "Thai Durian," promoting the "4 No's" standard to build consumer confidence and drive export revenue beyond 150 billion baht.

On 18 May 2026, Captain Phatdarasmi Thongsaluaykorn, Deputy Spokesperson of the Prime Minister's Office, announced that the government, through the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, is intensifying efforts to raise Thai durian standards to build consumer trust both domestically and internationally. This aims to maintain Thailand's leadership in the global durian market amid rising competition, especially in China, Thailand's key export market.

The Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives has instructed all relevant agencies to strictly enforce quality standards under the "4 No's" policy: no underripe fruit, no worms, no misuse of rights, and no chemical residues. This is to build global consumer confidence. The government is integrating efforts with agricultural agencies and the private sector to thoroughly inspect quality from start to finish, including harvesting ripe durians, pest control, traceability of production sources, and random residue testing before export.

Additionally, the government is facilitating logistics and export operations around the clock to reduce costs and speed up distribution, efficiently managing this season's production volume. The government targets Thai durian exports in 2026 to total more than 150 billion baht, confident that "quality and consumer confidence" will be the key to maintaining existing markets and expanding new ones, generating sustainable income for Thai farmers and reinforcing the image of "quality Thai durian" on the global stage.
