At 11:00 a.m. on 18 May 2026, reporters at the Government House reported that Ms. Piyarat Tiyapairat, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, was accompanied by her father, Mr. Yongyut Tiyapairat, former Speaker of the Parliament and advisor to Ms. Piyarat, who traveled to the Government House to meet Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul at the Thai Koo Fah Building. The discussion lasted about two hours.
Reporters added that the discussion focused on supporting efforts to reduce moisture in off-season rice for rice farmers, enabling them to store their rice longer. The conversation took longer because there were also general talks between Prime Minister Anutin and Mr. Yongyut, as they had not met for a long time.
