Profile of Suchart Chomklin

Mention the name "Suchart Chomklin" and few would be unfamiliar. Known as "Sia Heng," he has an extraordinary career and life story. From a young man in Chonburi from a relatively poor family, he fought his way from being a real estate salesman and bank employee to CEO of a real estate company in Chonburi and Rayong. His life then turned towards politics, working with "Kamnan Por" Somchai Khunpleum, beginning his political journey at age 26 as a local councilor of Saensuk subdistrict.

After breaking away from the powerful Chonburi faction to create a "new house" affiliated with the Palang Pracharath Party, then moving to the Ruam Thai Sang Chart Party, and later joining the Bhumjaithai Party as a team, Suchart Chomklin has continuously held ministerial positions including Minister of Labor, Deputy Minister of Commerce, and Minister of Natural Resources and Environment.

In the recent 2026 election, "Sia Heng" successfully secured the Chonburi 1 seat as MP after joining forces with the Khunpleum faction to reclaim the area from the People's Party, along with several other districts in Chonburi. This solidified his position as Minister of Natural Resources and Environment.

He is known for a long-standing rivalry with MP Rakchanok Srinok of the People's Party, who investigated irregularities during his tenure as Minister of Labor, leading to ongoing legal disputes.

Regarding the biography of Suchart Chomklin,

He was born on 15 July 1974 and will turn 52 this year (2026). He entered politics as a member of the Chonburi Provincial Administrative Organization representing Mueang Chonburi District.

In 2011, he was first elected as a Member of Parliament under the Palang Chon Party.

In 2019, he was elected MP for Chonburi District 1 representing the Palang Pracharath Party and was appointed Minister of Labor on 6 August 2020 in the government of Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha.

In June 2021, he was elected as an executive committee member of the Palang Pracharath Party.

On 28 November 2022, he resigned from the Palang Pracharath Party executive committee to join the Ruam Thai Sang Chart Party aligned with "Uncle Tu".

In 2023, he served as a party-list MP for the Ruam Thai Sang Chart Party.

On 27 April 2024, he was appointed Deputy Minister of Commerce in the government of Prime Ministers Srettha Thavisin and Paethongtarn Shinawatra.

On 19 September 2025, he was appointed Minister of Natural Resources and Environment in the government of Anutin Charnvirakul.
