The Minister of Tourism revealed that the Cabinet has canceled the 60-day visa-free entry for over 90 countries, returning to the previous visa regulations. The Visa Policy Committee will review new criteria before submitting proposals to the government.
On 19 May 2026 GMT+7, Mr. Surasak Pancharoenworakul, Minister of Tourism and Sports, stated that the Cabinet meeting resolved to cancel the 60-day visa-free policy for more than 90 countries, including those with more than one visa type, which were also canceled. The previous visa regulations will be reinstated. Following this, relevant agencies will be notified of the decision. The Visa Policy Committee will re-examine each country individually to determine the appropriate visa type, taking into account security and economic factors comprehensively.
All countries affected by the cancellation of the 60-day visa-free entry will revert to their previous visa types, which in most cases allow approximately 30 days of stay.
