However, the law allows Narong Ruangsri, Permanent Secretary of Bangkok, to act as caretaker to maintain order and manage Bangkok's affairs until a new governor is appointed.
Narong Ruangsri, Permanent Secretary of Bangkok, was born on 23 May 1966. He completed his secondary education at Horwang School, earned a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Rajamangala University of Technology, Thonburi Campus, and a master's degree in public administration from the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA).
Narong is a longtime Bangkok career official who advanced through engineering and drainage roles, starting at the operational level and rising to the highest civil service rank.
