"Tee PCN" took the opportunity to criticize "Suchart" for being rude to a reporter, saying this is the result of appointing a 'pollution minister' to oversee pollution.
On 19 May 2026, Pattharaphong Leelaphat, an MP for Chiang Mai from the PCN party, posted on Facebook regarding news that Suchart Chomklin, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, used rude language toward a reporter, saying: "You don't know me well enough." He said he wants everyone to recognize this 'pollution minister' named Suchart Chomklin, who neglects preparations to address PM2.5 pollution, causing severe dust levels without any budget assistance. He also ignores the toxic river problem coming from neighboring countries, which has now spread throughout the North, Northeast, and South, again without budget allocation.
Pattharaphong added that even funding to buy new water pollution testing equipment is withheld. There is no management of these problems at all. Fearing scrutiny, all related committee chair positions are locked down by the minister himself. Yet he claims transparency and denies knowing anything about environmental management. When problems arise, he makes statements to divert public attention—for instance, when forest fires worsen, he announces strict forest closures; when the Kok River is poisoned, he deflects by saying he ordered the Department of Water Resources to aerate village water reservoirs. He never addresses issues directly and seems unaware that international environmental management is his responsibility as the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment.
This is only a part of the 'pollution minister,' who openly said: "You don't know me well enough." This is the result of appointing a 'pollution minister' to sit in charge of pollution.
