His Majesty the King graciously bestowed the prestigious Order of the Crown of Thailand, Commander Class, upon Mrs. Sasiphat Sinsohmol. Former school director with the rank of specialist director at Patong Prathan Kirivat School, under the Songkhla Satun Secondary Education Service Area Office, Office of the Basic Education Commission.
While alive, she performed her duties in a manner that risked her life, ultimately leading to her death. She protected, cared for, and assisted the teachers and students under her charge, refusing to abandon them, and willingly sacrificed herself as a hostage in place of the teachers and students. As a result, she was shot, severely wounded, and died during a hostage-taking incident involving teachers and students. This occurred inside Patong Prathan Kirivat School, Patong Subdistrict, Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province, on 11 February 2026.
This has been effective since 12 May 2026.
