Government Partners with Unilever to Cut Prices on Over 700 Products to Help Citizens Lower Living Costs

The government expands the "Thai Helps Thai" initiative by partnering with Unilever to offer discounts on over 700 products, helping citizens reduce living costs through a network of more than 70,000 stores nationwide.

On 20 May 2026 GMT+7, Ms. Lalida Pertwiwatana, Deputy Spokesperson of the Prime Minister's Office, announced that the government continues to implement measures to alleviate the public's living expenses. Recently, the Ministry of Commerce, through the Department of Business Development, collaborated with Unilever Thailand to expand the "Unilever Helps Thai" project under the "Thai Helps Thai" framework. This initiative offers essential products at special prices, with discounts of up to more than 50% across over 700 items, available through a network of more than 70,000 stores nationwide.

The Deputy Spokesperson explained that this collaboration aims primarily to increase options for citizens to purchase consumer goods at reasonable prices near their homes, particularly through community stores and small neighborhood shops. This helps reduce both expenses and travel costs. Simultaneously, it supports small retail entrepreneurs by providing opportunities to compete and increase their income.

The project covers consumer goods in four main categories: home care products, personal care items, health and beauty products, and food. Several well-known brands familiar to the public participate, including Breeze, Comfort, Sunsilk, Clear, Dove, Vaseline, and Knorr.

Additionally, the project utilizes the "Star Store" network developed by Unilever in partnership with community shops to distribute affordable products to consumers across various regions nationwide. Currently, more than 12,000 stores have joined this network.

“We believe that cooperation between the government and the private sector in this manner will help ease citizens’ financial burdens while strengthening the community-level economy and stimulating domestic spending to maintain continuous economic circulation in the future,” she said.
