At 10:27 a.m. on 20 May 2026 GMT+7 Mr. Pakorn Nilprapunt, Deputy Prime Minister, gave an interview at the Government House about preparing and submitting a copy of the relevant documents to the Constitutional Court within 7 days from the date of receiving the letter, following the Constitutional Court's acceptance of a petition by 133 members of the House of Representatives requesting a ruling on the Royal Decree authorizing the Ministry of Finance to borrow funds to address the impacts of the energy crisis and to facilitate the country's energy transition in 2026. This concerns the 400 billion baht loan decree. The question is whether the decree violates the Constitution. After the Cabinet meeting on 19 May, which acknowledged the matter, when asked if the explanation would be sent this week, Pakorn replied briefly, "It must be within 7 days."
