Prime Minister Visits France from 21-27 May to Discuss with President, International Organizations, and Private Sector

Anutin will visit France from 21-27 May to discuss with the President, international organizations, and the private sector. The Thai team will push forward proactive economic policies, support energy security, and promote soft power to the international community.

On 20 May 2026, Ms. Ratchada Thanadirek, spokesperson for the Office of the Prime Minister, announced that Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul is scheduled to visit the French Republic from 21 to 27 May 2026. During this visit, the Prime Minister will take the opportunity to meet and hold discussions with leaders and key figures from various sectors, including

1. Leadership level The Prime Minister is scheduled to meet H.E. Mr. Emmanuel Macron, President of France, at a working dinner. He will use this occasion to strengthen Thailand-France relations toward a strategic partnership. This year marks the 170th anniversary of the establishment of official diplomatic relations between the two countries. They will also promote key cooperation areas, especially trade and investment, energy, transportation, military, and aviation.

2. International organizations The Prime Minister will meet with the Executive Director of the International Energy Agency (IEA) to promote energy security. He will also meet with the Director-General of UNESCO, building on cooperation discussed on 15 May, to advance the role of Thai culture globally—especially the registration of traditional Thai costume as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity later this year. This aims to raise awareness and expand Thailand's creative economic value in fashion, handicrafts, tourism, and international soft power.

3. French private sector The Prime Minister will meet French business leaders from the French Employers’ Association (MEDEF International) and other private sector representatives. This will be an opportunity to invite French investment in Thailand’s large-scale projects, particularly in sectors where France has expertise, such as aerospace, clean energy, and defense industries.

4. Team Thailand, Thai private sector, and Thai community in France The Prime Minister will participate and exchange views at the meeting of European ambassadors and consuls general. He will also meet the Thai community in France, which plays a key role in promoting Thai culture and identity and enhancing Thailand’s positive image in France. Additionally, he will engage with the Thai private sector in France, which has potential to build global recognition and added value for Thai brands.
