On 20 May 2026, Ms. Ratchada Thanadirek, spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office,announced thatPrime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul will preside over the opening ceremony and deliver policy guidance at a workshop on advancing security operations according to government policies. The event will include the Permanent Secretary of the Interior Ministry and the National Police Chief reporting on their agencies’ roles in driving security work, along with governors, provincial police commanders from 76 provinces, and executives from Bangkok and Pattaya.
The Prime Minister will provide policy direction and listen to suggestions from local agencies, using the governors as central coordinators to integrate efforts with provincial police commanders. This approach aims to enhance law enforcement, connect government data, and effectively advance security operations.
This workshop will gather opinions and proposals to set the direction for operations, dividing participants into four regional groups: Central, North, Northeast, and South. The nine discussion topics include (1) public land encroachment, (2) technology-related crime, (3) businesses using Thai representatives as fronts, (4) drug issues, (5) money laundering, (6) influential figures, (7) informal debt, (8) tourist safety, and (9) linking security-related databases.
