At 09:00 on 21 May 2026 GMT+7 Poramet Ngampiches, Mayor of Pattaya He led the executive team, deputy mayor, advisors, secretary, and Pattaya City Council members to pay respects at the King Taksin the Great monument in front of Pattaya City Hall, Nong Prue Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province. They then paid respects at the city guardian spirit shrine and local ancestral shrine on his final working day, 21 May, with many city officials and citizens offering flowers and encouragement.
Poramet then led the team in a press briefing summarizing the 4-year achievements under the “Better Pattaya for Sustainability” policy, emphasizing laying the foundation for Pattaya's development with 4 goals and 15 policies to elevate the city as an international tourism hub and comprehensively improve residents' quality of life.
Poramet said during his tenure, the executive team advanced Pattaya in multiple dimensions: stimulating the economy, generating income, developing infrastructure, solving flooding, environment, education, public health, and smart city technology. The key goal was to make Pattaya a standard, sustainably growing tourist city. A main approach was promoting Pattaya as a “Festival City” to host events generating income for residents and businesses and distribute the economy to communities, alongside opening trade spaces, increasing job opportunities, and supporting employment through the Parttime Center concept.
Regarding quality of life, Pattaya continued ongoing flood control projects to reduce drainage time and improve urban water management. It developed the 1337 MAX complaint system and Pattaya Connect app for convenient public access to information and services. Pattaya also emphasized public health and aging population services via home doctor visits, telemedicine, and the Smart Senior project, plus modernized transportation systems to connect with future high-speed rail projects.
To continue the “Neo Pattaya” vision, projects included redeveloping the Naklua market with more parking and trade areas, upgrading Koh Larn as a safe tourist destination while preserving the environment, and advancing Pattaya’s economy toward an entertainment complex concept. For technology and education, Pattaya implemented Smart City initiatives such as linking over 600 CCTV cameras, enhancing lighting systems, and online services to increase safety and convenience for residents and tourists, expanding model schools to boost educational opportunities and prepare youth for future careers.
The mayor noted that despite personnel and authority limitations over 4 years, the executive team persistently advanced all aspects of Pattaya. He urged the new administration to continue improving Pattaya’s administrative laws and regulations to increase flexibility in solving city problems, especially traffic, homelessness, and other public issues requiring government cooperation for further progress.
