Prinya Phothisat, Governor of Sa Kaeo, declined to comment on “Jae Rat”’s claim of ownership over land in Nong Chan village before sending a team to provide information, stating villagers have already been returned the area. On 18 June, a land boundary survey will be conducted to verify possession.
On 21 May 2026, at Santimai Building, Government House, during a government security operational policy meeting, reporters tried to ask Mr. Prinya Phothisat, Governor of Sa Kaeo, about “Jae Rat”’s claim of ownership over 45 rai of land in Nong Chan village, Sa Kaeo province, which Thai soldiers had reclaimed from Cambodian troops. The governor replied only, “You can find the information yourself,” before entering the meeting room to continue listening to the briefing.
Subsequently, the Sa Kaeo governor sent his team to inform the media about the progress on the matter, explaining that the governor was unavailable for an interview to avoid providing inaccurate information, but the team would provide details instead.
The statement said that Khok Sung District took the media to inspect the farmland the villagers had safely reclaimed in Nong Chan village, Moo 3, Non Mak Mun subdistrict, accompanied by land officials from the Aranyaprathet branch. They found villagers who had received the land back, including Mr. Sanga Sripian, one of the landowners, who was preparing the area he held documents for (Sor Kor 1). It was explained that cultivation is permitted on areas with proper possession documents. On 18 June 2026, a land boundary survey will be conducted to verify the occupied land. Media and villagers understood and acknowledged the upcoming procedural steps.
