Akaranan Visits Site to Investigate Case of Waitress Harassment at Kanchanaburi Grilled Pork Restaurant

Akaranan visited the site to investigate the case of a waitress allegedly harassed at a grilled pork restaurant in Kanchanaburi, declaring that justice must be served, with disciplinary and criminal penalties for the offender.

On 22 May 2026, Akaranan Kankittinan, Member of Parliament for Kanchanaburi Province from the Pheu Thai Party and Deputy Minister of Education, traveled to Kanchanaburi to follow up on the case of a waitress at a grilled pork restaurant who was reportedly mistreated by a police officer inside the restaurant. He met with officials at Lat Ya Police Station in Mueang District, Kanchanaburi.

Akaranan revealed that the incident affects public confidence. He received assurances from the police superintendent and investigators that the case will be handled fairly, without interference or intimidation of the victim.

“As the local MP, I assure the victim will receive justice for certain. The offender must face both disciplinary and criminal punishment. No one is above the law,” Akaranan said. He added that the case must be judged based on the facts. Wrongdoings must be addressed appropriately, and what is right must be protected. He reaffirmed that all citizens, not only those in Kanchanaburi, must not have their rights violated or be subjected to such treatment.

Regarding the suspect's denial, Akaranan stated it is the police's duty to collect evidence, especially from CCTV footage from multiple angles, which can clearly establish the facts. If guilt is confirmed and responsibility denied, decisive action must be taken without exception.
