
Prime Minister Anutin has arrived in Paris, France, preparing to meet with the Director of the International Energy Agency and the Director-General of UNESCO to support energy security and advance Thai culture on the global stage.
On 22 May 2026, Ms. Ratchada Thanadirek, spokesperson for the Office of the Prime Minister, revealed that at 07:55 local time in France, which is five hours behind Thailand, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, accompanied by a delegation including Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Akniti Nitithanprapas, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sihasak Phuangketkaew, Minister of Culture Sabida Thaiset, and Secretary to the Prime Minister Traisulee Traisoranakul, arrived at Paris Orly International Airport in the French Republic.
The spokesperson for the Office of the Prime Minister outlined the key mission of the Prime Minister’s visit to the French Republic as follows.
1. On Friday, 22 May 2026, the Prime Minister is scheduled to meet with the Director of the International Energy Agency (IEA) to discuss promoting the country’s energy security. He will also meet with the Director-General of UNESCO to build upon their cooperation and advance the role of Thai culture on the world stage.
2. On Saturday, 23 May 2026, the Prime Minister will preside over a Buddhist chanting ceremony and a merit-making alms-giving event dedicated to Her Majesty Queen Ramphaiphanni. He will also meet with the Thai community at the International Buddhist Temple. Following this, the Prime Minister will meet with Thai private sector representatives investing in France in sectors such as food manufacturing and processing, recycling and sustainable packaging materials production, and the restaurant business.
3. On Sunday, 24 May 2026, the Prime Minister is scheduled to attend a meeting with ambassadors and consuls general from the European region to exchange views, especially regarding the implementation of the Cabinet’s policy statements within the European context.
4. On Monday, 25 May 2026, in the morning, the Prime Minister will meet with MEDEF International, the French employers' association. Afterwards, he will meet with French private sector representatives from various industries including basic materials, medical devices/optics, and aerospace.
In the evening, the Prime Minister will attend a dinner reception hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron at the Palais de l’Élysée, where discussions will focus on strengthening relations and cooperation between Thailand and France.
After completing his engagements, the Prime Minister and his delegation will return to Thailand on Tuesday, 26 May 2026, and are expected to arrive in Thailand on the morning of Wednesday, 27 May 2026.
