
The "Thai Help Thai" initiative advances efforts to stimulate the grassroots economy, with spending surpassing 110.89 million baht and reducing citizens' living costs by more than 24.51 million baht, covering 878 districts nationwide in total.
On 22 May 2026 GMT+7, Mr. Naruecha Kosasivilai, Director-General of the Department of Provincial Administration, stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, the "Thai Help Thai: Reduce Burden, Reduce Living Costs" project is being continuously driven to ease citizens' expenses and stimulate the grassroots economy nationwide.
The Department of Provincial Administration collaborates with the Department of Business Development, modern wholesale and retail stores, local entrepreneurs, and mobile vendors to organize nationwide affordable goods sales activities across 878 districts. This increases opportunities for citizens to access essential goods at reasonable prices while supporting liquidity for small businesses, community shops, SMEs, and OTOP products.
The fourth event received ongoing positive response, with over 180,000 participants generating economic circulation exceeding 23.9 million baht and helping reduce citizens' expenses by more than 5.07 million baht.
The top five provinces with the highest spending were Chonburi, Saraburi, Ang Thong, Surin, and Yala. The districts with the highest spending were Mueang Chonburi District in Chonburi, Mueang Saraburi District in Saraburi, Mueang Yala District in Yala, Mueang Ratchaburi District in Ratchaburi, and Kaeng Khoi District in Saraburi.
Combining results from the first to fourth events, the "Thai Help Thai: Reduce Burden, Reduce Living Costs" project generated total spending exceeding 110.89 million baht and helped reduce citizens' living costs by more than 24.51 million baht.
The Director-General of the Department of Provincial Administration added that the "Thai Help Thai: Reduce Burden, Reduce Living Costs" project will continue every Friday throughout May at district offices nationwide to help citizens access quality products at affordable prices, reduce household expenses, and stimulate grassroots economic circulation continuously in all areas.
