State Railway of Thailand Offers Free Parking at All Stations Nationwide to Facilitate Long-Distance and Red Line Train Users

The Deputy Government Spokesperson announced The government is promoting travel via the rail public transport system by offering free parking at all railway stations nationwide to facilitate users of long-distance trains and the Red Line, with free parking available until 22 June 2026.

Today, 23 May 2026, Ms. Ploytale Laksamee Sangchan, Deputy Government Spokesperson, revealed that the State Railway of Thailand (SRT), under the Ministry of Transport, is driving the government's policy to promote rail public transport travel to help reduce national energy consumption amid global energy volatility. SRT is offering free parking at all railway stations nationwide to support users of long-distance trains and the Red Line from today until 22 June 2026.

Ms. Ploytale stated that the State Railway of Thailand has designated Bangkok Central Station (Aphiwat) as a "model station for energy conservation" to enhance energy efficiency, respond to global energy challenges, and align with the government's policy focusing on efficient energy use. This supports travel via the rail public transport system, granting rights to passengers using long-distance trains and the Red Line as follows.

1. Passengers using Bangkok Central Station (Aphiwat) may park their private vehicles in the underground parking lot and present their round-trip train tickets along with their parking cards to receive free parking privileges at five public relations points: near gates 1, 4, 10, 13, and in front of the passenger lounge on the first floor (parking fees currently apply).

2. For other railway stations, passengers can bring their private vehicles and contact the station staff to request free parking services without any charges.

The government invites the public to use the rail public transport system, which not only helps reduce the use of private cars but also conserves energy and mitigates pollution problems.
