Fourth Phase of Thai Helps Thai to Reduce Expenses and Cost of Living Aids Citizens with Over 5 Million Baht in Savings

The government revealed that the fourth phase of the "Thai Helps Thai to Reduce Expenses and Cost of Living" project engaged over 180,000 people, generating circulation exceeding 23.9 million baht and cutting citizens' expenses by more than 5 million baht.

On 23 May 2026 GMT+7, Ms. Lalida Pertwivatana, Deputy Spokesperson of the Prime Minister's Office, stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, the government continues to promote the "Thai Helps Thai to Reduce Expenses and Cost of Living" sales activities to ease citizens' financial burdens while stimulating the grassroots economy and distributing income to small entrepreneurs, community shops, and local producers nationwide.

The Deputy Spokesperson noted that the fourth event held at district offices nationwide received strong public response, with a total of 181,748 participants from 878 districts in 76 provinces. A total of 9,669 stores took part, offering over 232,015 products, resulting in total spending of 23,933,544 baht and helping reduce citizens' expenses by more than 5,072,100 baht.

Participating stores included modern retail outlets, OTOP product shops, community stores, SMEs, community enterprises, and small vendors—key channels providing quality, affordable goods accessible to people across all areas. The most popular items were cooking oil, eggs, laundry products, rice, fresh food, agricultural products, and OTOP food and household items.

Ms. Lalida added that since the first phase through the fourth, the project has generated total spending exceeding 110.89 million baht and helped reduce citizens' cost of living by over 24.51 million baht. This reflects the success of cooperation among government, private sector, and local entrepreneurs in tangibly supporting the public's living costs.

"The government prioritizes reducing citizens' expenses alongside creating economic opportunities for small entrepreneurs by leveraging cooperation from all sectors to distribute affordable goods across communities nationwide. This ensures easier access to essential consumer products and helps sustain continuous circulation in the grassroots economy," the Deputy Spokesperson concluded.
