He informed UNESCO that if Cambodia requests to survey archaeological sites, inspections must be conducted on both sides to ensure complete and accurate information. He expressed happiness that everyone shares love for their hometown.
On 23 May 2026 at 10:00 local time (five hours behind Thailand) at the International Buddhist Temple in Paris, France, Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, presided over a Buddhist chanting ceremony and almsgiving to honor Queen Ramphaiphanni. He also met with fellow Buddhists and the Thai community residing in France.
During greetings, someone asked about the border situation. The Prime Minister responded that he is glad everyone loves their homeland and is concerned about Thailand's situation. He assured that "the border crossing will not open" and promised that Thailand will not allow anyone to violate, threaten, or exploit the country. He also said that yesterday he discussed with UNESCO's Director-General that if Cambodia requests to survey World Heritage temples affected by clashes between Thailand and Cambodia, UNESCO must also survey the Thai side of the border to provide clear and complete data.
The Prime Minister revealed that this visit is part of promoting relations on the occasion of 170 years of diplomatic ties between Thailand and France. For the first time, four Deputy Prime Ministers visited France together: Ekniti Nitithanprapas, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister; Sihasak Puangketkaew, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister; Supachai Sutthumpun, Deputy Prime Minister and Commerce Minister; and Yossathorn Wongsawat, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation. On 25 May, there will be a very small dinner meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron. This encounter will benefit Thailand by creating opportunities and income, and the Prime Minister asked President Macron to help take care of Thais in France.
At the end, the Prime Minister invited Thais living abroad to visit Thailand, where they will see positive changes, improved livability, and better quality of life. He also encouraged Thais in France to act as ambassadors for Thailand by promoting Thai culture, conveying Thai identity, and building a positive image internationally.
