Government Emphasizes Thai Help Thai Plus 60/40 Registration Opens Tomorrow to Boost Grassroots Economy

The Deputy Government Spokesperson emphasized that the "Thai Help Thai Plus 60/40" program will open registration for citizens and shops starting 25 May 2026. The government will subsidize up to 60%, aiming to stimulate the grassroots economy nationwide and help ease the public's cost of living.

24 May 2026 GMT+7 Ms. Lalida Pertvivatana, Deputy Spokesperson of the Prime Minister's Office, revealed that the government under the leadership of Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul is preparing to launch the "Thai Help Thai Plus 60/40" program officially tomorrow (25 May 2026) to help reduce the public's cost of living while stimulating the grassroots economy, increasing income for community shops, small entrepreneurs, and local businesses nationwide.

The Deputy Government Spokesperson added that this program is a co-payment measure between the government and citizens, where the government supports 60% of expenses and citizens pay 40% for food, beverages, goods, and services participating in the program, to help reduce costs and maintain purchasing power during the economic recovery period.

Regarding citizens, registration for the program is open from 25 May to 29 September 2026 or until 30 million people have registered. Applicants must be Thai nationals aged 18 or older, not holders of the State Welfare Card, and not disqualified under the program's conditions. Participants can use their benefits from 1 June to 30 September 2026 between 06:00 and 23:00. For Food Delivery, benefits can be used from 15 June to 30 September 2026 between 06:00 and 21:00.

Regarding shops, shops that previously participated in the “Half-Half Plus” program can confirm their eligibility via the “Tung Ngern” app from 25 May to 30 September 2026, while new shops can register through Krungthai Bank branches from 25 May to 31 July 2026. However, massage parlors, spas, nail salons, and hair salons are not eligible to participate in this round.

Ms. Lalida further stated that the "Thai Help Thai Plus 60/40" program covers general shops, Blue Flag shops, restaurants, street vendors, Food Delivery, OTOP, and public transport services. The government expects this to increase cash flow in the economy, stimulate spending at the community level, and help small entrepreneurs recover and continue their businesses. Citizens and entrepreneurs can find more details on the program's website or contact the Help Center at 0-2111-1122 pressing 2 for citizens, pressing 3 for shops, or inquire at Krungthai Bank branches nationwide during business hours.

“The government believes that stimulating the grassroots economy is a key mechanism to strengthen Thailand's economy. The Thai Help Thai Plus 60/40 program will support both citizens and entrepreneurs, ensuring money circulates widely in communities and helping to ease the public's cost of living during this period,” she said.
