For new retailer registration, they must verify their business type, download the application form, and get certification from the relevant authority before submitting the application at Krungthai Bank service points. Upon approval, the system will send an SMS notification and display the “Thai Chai Thai Plus” banner on the Thung Ngern app, allowing retailers to accept terms and start receiving payments from the public from 1 June to 30 September 2026, between 06:00 and 23:00.
The government stipulates that eligible retailers include restaurants, beverage vendors, general merchandise, Thong Fah shops, community enterprises, village funds, community shops, public transport operators, and small legal entities with annual income not exceeding 1.8 million baht. Businesses must be verifiable and exclude franchise convenience stores or businesses reselling others’ products as agents. Additionally, retailers must not have had their rights suspended or been required to return funds in previous government programs, such as various phases of the Khon La Khrueng and Khon La Khrueng Plus programs.
Eligible goods and services for the program include food, beverages, general merchandise, and public transport services, excluding government lottery tickets, alcoholic beverages, tobacco products, vouchers, cash cards, and prepaid services.
The Deputy Government Spokesperson added that if a retailer’s business information is not in government databases, they must obtain certification of genuine operation from officials appointed by the Ministry of Interior or Bangkok Metropolitan Administration to ensure proper participation and prevent misuse. Regarding payments, the government will transfer its co-payment portion to retailers’ accounts via the Thung Ngern app according to the set schedule. In case of transfer failure, retries will occur every Friday until 30 October 2026.
“The government emphasizes facilitating small entrepreneurs while supervising transparency, aiming for the Thai Chai Thai Plus 60/40 program to be an essential mechanism to stimulate the grassroots economy and help generate income circulation throughout communities.”
