
The Dusit Poll reveals that over half of Bangkok residents hope Chadchart Sittipunt will serve another term as Governor of Bangkok. In the Bangkok Metropolitan Council election, the People's Party remains in the lead, followed by independent candidates.
On 24 May 2026, the Dusit Poll surveyed the opinions of 1,179 eligible voters regarding the 18th Governor of Bangkok election (second round) between 19-22 May. It found that 36.39% of Bangkok residents said they wanted a governor who "has experience and is ready to work immediately." This was the top choice, followed by "a new generation with fresh vision" at 21.37%, and "a specialist expert" at 16.12%.
When asked who Bangkok residents want as the next governor, the top choice was "Chadchart Sittipunt" at 57.68%. , "Chaiwat Sataworavijit" at 17.90%. Interestingly, those who were "undecided" accounted for as much as 13.57%, reflecting confidence in Chadchart's performance and image as a practical, people-focused leader.
Regarding the question "Which party will you vote for in the Bangkok Metropolitan Council election?" The top choice was the "People's Party" at 35.20%, followed by "independent candidates" at 26.55%, Pheu Thai Party at 7.46%, Democrat Party at 6.45%, and "undecided" voters at 22.82%. This reflects an urban trend valuing new, transparent politics and public participation.
Finally, after electing the new governor, 78.03% of Bangkok residents believe the city will "improve," while 21.54% said it would remain the same, and only 0.43% thought it would get worse. These results show positive expectations for local politics.
Dusit Poll concluded that Chadchart's lead continues to grow, while Chaiwat's support has slightly declined. This suggests that Bangkok residents currently prefer candidates with experience who can start working immediately over newer faces. However, a significant number remain undecided, indicating a fluctuating voter base that can change at any time.
