On 24 May 2026, “Ice” Pongsakorn Rattanaruangwat, a former Pheu Thai party member, separated to engage in politics with the Working People group (Working People Team), which officially launched its independent candidates for the Bangkok Metropolitan Council on 23 May.
Pongsakorn Rattanaruangwat graduated with a bachelor's degree in Political Science, Governance, from Ramkhamhaeng University.

In the major election earlier in 2026, he was a Pheu Thai candidate for MP in Constituency 14, covering Bang Kapi and Wang Thonglang (only Khlong Chan Khun Sing subdistrict), but was defeated by Mr. Korkiat Kosungsak of the People’s Party who secured 41,528 votes, followed by Ms. Thitiphas Chotidetchainun of Bhumjaithai Party with 25,491 votes; Pongsakorn finished third with 10,848 votes.
After the election, he declared his ongoing commitment to the area, stating that his 7 years of hands-on work tackling local issues gave him a deep understanding of the community and its needs. This time, Mr. Pongsakorn announced his candidacy for the Bang Kapi district councilor seat in the area he has been engaged with, under the new independent “Working People” team led by Mr. Duangrit Benjathikul Chairungreung, along with over 10 former councilors formerly affiliated with Pheu Thai.
