On 24 May 2026, “Ice” Pongsakorn Rattanarueangwatthana is recognized as a former Pheu Thai party member who separated to engage in politics alongside the Working People group, which officially launched its independent Bangkok Metropolitan Council candidates on 23 May.

Following was Thitiphat Chotidechachainan from Bhumjaithai Party with 25,491 votes, while he placed third with 10,848 votes.
After the election, he continued to commit to working in the area, stating that seven years of hands-on problem-solving in the community gave him understanding and connection with the people. This time, Mr. Pongsakorn announced his candidacy for the Bang Kapi District Council seat in the area where he has been active, under the independent “Working People” team led by Duangrit Benjathikul Chairungreung, along with over ten former district councilors formerly affiliated with Pheu Thai.
