Suriyas Condition Improves After Fainting Ministry of Agriculture Spokesperson Confirms He Will Proceed with Scheduled Work Today

Srawut revealed that Suriyas condition has improved after losing consciousness and requiring CPR. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives spokesperson confirmed that today the Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives will proceed with his scheduled work in Udon Thani Province.

On 25 May 2026, Mr. Srawut Nuangjamnong, Secretary to the Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, stated in an interview that on the night of 24 May, Mr. Suriya Juangroongruangkit, Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, fainted and lost consciousness while carrying out duties in Udon Thani Province. He was urgently taken to Bangkok Udon Thani Hospital, where medical staff performed CPR for approximately 2-3 minutes until his vital signs returned, and he later responded normally.

Since assuming office nearly two months ago, Minister Suriya has been pushing forward numerous initiatives, including monitoring agricultural issues, water management, and continuously visiting farmers in several provinces, with little rest, resulting in accumulated fatigue. Previously, he visited Chanthaburi Province on 16-17 May to monitor agricultural and fruit management situations. He developed flu symptoms at the start of last week but continued his duties without taking a break.

For his duties in Udon Thani, Minister Suriya is scheduled to monitor the water situation locally and review progress in preparing for the 2026 Horticultural Expo in Udon Thani. He will also meet with the public and private sector representatives. In the morning, he is scheduled to visit the Sam Phrao Water Gate in Sam Phrao Subdistrict, Mueang Udon Thani District, to listen to public concerns and assess the water situation. In the afternoon, he will travel to Nong Daed Wetlands in Kut Sa Subdistrict, Mueang Udon Thani, to review the horticultural expo preparations, hold a press conference, and give media interviews. Additionally, he is scheduled to attend the ordination ceremony of Mr. Rachen Silparaya, former Director-General of the Royal Rainmaking and Agricultural Aviation Department, today.

"His condition has improved, but doctors have kept him in the ICU for close monitoring due to accumulated fatigue from intense work and insufficient rest. However, he insists on obtaining medical permission to leave the hospital this morning to continue his scheduled duties," it was reported.

Later at 09:49, Mr. Kritchon Aiypanya, spokesperson for the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, posted an update onFacebookstating, "Last night, Mr. Suriya underwent a medical check-up at the hospital due to continuous heavy workloads. However, he confirms he will proceed with work today, visiting the irrigation project and Sam Phrao Water Gate in Udon Thani in the morning, and attending the horticultural expo in Udon Thani Province in the afternoon as scheduled."
